 Andrea Cleghorn is an experienced journalist who has written features and reviewed books for the Raleigh News and Observer, Arizona Republic, Boston Herald, and other newspapers around the country. To gather the material for the book, she spent many months experiencing all aspects of Rosie's Place—from volunteering in various capacities, to attending board meetings, to spending the night at the shelter and eating meals with the guests—earning the respect of those she would write about.
